Today the packers are coming to pack the house, tomorrow the movers are coming to move us on over to Livermore to our new place!
Wish me luck with the moving, there's a lot to do! Fortunately, there is a long weekend ahead and lots of friends and loved ones stepping up to help a sista out! I officially got the keys to my new place and took a load of things over last night. I cant wait to live in this house, it's fantastic! No more sharing walls with neighbors, a new kitchen, a legit master suite and a real backyard...a little slice of heaven in the country. God is so generous!
Pongo is doing well, the vet came out yesterday - and as I suspected she would - clipped off the dangling tag of skin left from his little injury. She glued him back together and put a make-shift band-aid on the site to hold some antibiotic ointment on the wound. I'm planning to go check on him later today, but he's taking a back seat this week due to the move unfortunately. His timing was quite good as far as needing and subsequently getting a few days of rest, good pony for not making me feel guilty for neglecting to ride you!
Between the dogs' annual check up/shots and Pongo's debacle it was a $600 in vet bills kinda day! Yikes! My sweet Peanut had his first "Senior" blood panel pulled at his check up. This panel looks at this kidneys and other organs functions to make sure his body is holding up. Little man is turning 8 this year and definitely slowing down just a little {translation: in Jack Russell terms this means he has the energy level of a normal dog now instead of 12 Energizer Bunnies on crack}. As I asked a million questions about older dog care, my vet chuckled and said we've got a long way to go before this fur-ball will be considered geriatric and to enjoy a more mellow fellow for a few more years. The paranoid supplementer in me probed about Cosequin and Adequan and Platinum Performance for him. The always practical vet said to just stick with the good food he's getting and take him for more walks so he doesnt look quite so much like an over-inflated football...Point taken Dr. Krome :)

I hear ya on the vet bills.... seems like it's always something.
ReplyDeleteGlad Pongo is good and your senior puppy is doing really well.
I know! Never a month goes by without them! Got the results back from Peanut's blood panel and everything is perfect, thank God! He's healthy as can be which makes me happy as can be :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! The new house looks gorgeous! I may have to find a reason to have another sleepover haha:)
ReplyDeleteAnytime Elena...just dont dump your boyfriend again to make an excuse! J/K ;) You're always welcome here!!!! Miss you! Let's plan something once I'm settled in a little, it's been an insane month with all this moving prep.
ReplyDeleteVery nice house! I especially like the patio and lawn in the back. That would be a patch of grass that I would not mind watering. Mine is a bear to keep green. ;)
